Today I went with Julieta to the vet for an ultrasound. I already had the strong feeling she is pregnant as she eats so much and wants to cuddle more than normal, she doesnt want to go outside and her belly seems a bit bigger but it is now confirmed she is pregnant. There were only 2 puppies seen so probably it will be a small litter.  We have had many males (7-0 / 3-1 / 4-1) in the last litters so lets hope for girls!!

We arrived back home yesterday after a very long  journey. We have been all the way to Sweden for the mating of Julieta with the wonderful Jason. jason-1Jason is a beautiful small boy with excellent proportions in head and body and the longest coat I have ever seen on bolognese before. Jason is the son of Kevin Jizerska Protez and Puzinuz Amore Coccolina. Kevin is one of my favorite bolognese and I have been looking for a nice son after him for a long time. Jasons mother is a very nice female. She is leading back to the older bolognese lines like World Champion Eliseo, Voila kennel and Jabir Bo Blanc kennel, von Weisses Kindertraum, De Chaponay and the famous World Champion Eliane. Eliane is a female born in 1980 and is in many pedigrees of old lines here in Holland and Belgium. The pedigree of the puppies will be very interesting and looking at the dogs behind the parents lines, the puppies must be very special. We hope for this litter with lines from all over Europe (Italy, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Czech Republic, Russia, Hungary) to be born the first week of April. Keep watching this blog for updates…

We expect to move to the new house end of February!

Julieta is in season now and we are planning a very interesting litter. The male lives quite far from here but we are so sure this litter must be beautiful that it will definately be worth the travel time.  The puppies pedigree is to die for! More info reg this litter expected beginning of April will follow soon.

In March we will drive all the way to Birmingham, UK to participate with Macho in the world biggest dogshow, Crufts!

We hope for a nice litter with Ginger in the summer. We will anounce the father of this litter later this year.

In June we will go with some of our dogs to the Big World Dog Show in Denmark.

At the end of the year we are planning a very nice litter with Jackie and Macho.

Of course there will be more interesting things happening this year and we will write about it on this blog. For now, wishing everyone a good New Year, with many wishes coming true….

In Oktober Little White Wonder Cirino Oidi (Macho) werd Nederlands Kampioen.

Today our boys had a repeated eye test, which means they are tested for PRA, Cataract, Distichiasis and some more eye diseases that are hereditary. Both Noah and Machos eyes are perfect. We also had Zoë tested again as sometimes these diseases develop later in life. She was also clear.

Last weekend we took Macho with us to this two days international show in Switzerland. He did so well, gaining best male (CAC and CACIB) both days! On Sunday he also got the Crufts Qualification. It was an 11 hour drive and we were still very tired after the long drive to the World Dog Show in Bratislava just one week earlier but it was definately worth it. In Switzerland you need 4 CAC and the last one must be gained 366 days after the first one. So in a little more than a year we will see if we can finish Machos title of Swiss champion. Macho now has enough CACIB points in different countries to be international champion. Unfortunately there has to be a year between the first and the last CACIB and so we have to wait a few more months and hopefully he will get another CACIB for the title. Thanks to my mother for joining me to so many shows, it wouldnt be so much fun without you!

What a wonderful day for our kennel! There were 59 bolognese entered and only a few absent.

Gloria, Sakalas owner, asked me to show Sakala for her, which I did. She was entered in Junior Class. There were 7 females entered and Sakala got 4th. Sakala was one of the youngest in this group, just 10 months old and her body wasnt as developed as the other females. Nevertheless some people didnt agree with the judges opinion and thought Sakala should have placed higher. Anyway, it is his decision at that moment and I was very proud of Sakala as she walked wonderfully and did everything that was asked of her. Maybe in a year or so she will be more developed and will be able to gain some nice titles in the US.

I showed Julieta in open class and there were 11 females entered. Some were of very high quality and of very well known kennels. Julieta isnt really a good showdog, eventhough she is a perfect bolognese. She just doesnt like to show, doesnt like to be touched by the judge and prefers to play and have fun. Nevertheless the judge was very excited about her, came back to go over her again after all females were judged and decided that she should be placed 1st! I was very happy with this obviously. Her breeder had come all the way from Czech Republic to see this show and she was so extremely happy too! Something even better happened just a little later. Julietas litter sister Mina was entered in Champion class and won the class. There were two sisters walking for best female. Mina, who obviously loves showing, got the title World Winner. Her breeder couldnt believe it, what a succesful day for her kennel too!

After the females were judged, a different judge was judging the males. I entered Macho in open class. Again a very strong competition, some very nice dogs, well known in the showring in Europe. Macho was very tired and didnt like the waiting in the ring very much. Nevertheless he walked really well and the judge placed him 2nd in class! The winner of the class also got the World Winner and Best of Breed title. Not so bad!

After the show we were very very tired but also very happy. Some nice results for our kennel, being able to meet some nice people and also very important, seeing many many nice bolognese. This was a top entry for the breed. We are already looking forward to next year. See you in Denmark!?
