Last weekend we took Macho with us to this two days international show in Switzerland. He did so well, gaining best male (CAC and CACIB) both days! On Sunday he also got the Crufts Qualification. It was an 11 hour drive and we were still very tired after the long drive to the World Dog Show in Bratislava just one week earlier but it was definately worth it. In Switzerland you need 4 CAC and the last one must be gained 366 days after the first one. So in a little more than a year we will see if we can finish Machos title of Swiss champion. Macho now has enough CACIB points in different countries to be international champion. Unfortunately there has to be a year between the first and the last CACIB and so we have to wait a few more months and hopefully he will get another CACIB for the title. Thanks to my mother for joining me to so many shows, it wouldnt be so much fun without you!

What a wonderful day for our kennel! There were 59 bolognese entered and only a few absent.

Gloria, Sakalas owner, asked me to show Sakala for her, which I did. She was entered in Junior Class. There were 7 females entered and Sakala got 4th. Sakala was one of the youngest in this group, just 10 months old and her body wasnt as developed as the other females. Nevertheless some people didnt agree with the judges opinion and thought Sakala should have placed higher. Anyway, it is his decision at that moment and I was very proud of Sakala as she walked wonderfully and did everything that was asked of her. Maybe in a year or so she will be more developed and will be able to gain some nice titles in the US.

I showed Julieta in open class and there were 11 females entered. Some were of very high quality and of very well known kennels. Julieta isnt really a good showdog, eventhough she is a perfect bolognese. She just doesnt like to show, doesnt like to be touched by the judge and prefers to play and have fun. Nevertheless the judge was very excited about her, came back to go over her again after all females were judged and decided that she should be placed 1st! I was very happy with this obviously. Her breeder had come all the way from Czech Republic to see this show and she was so extremely happy too! Something even better happened just a little later. Julietas litter sister Mina was entered in Champion class and won the class. There were two sisters walking for best female. Mina, who obviously loves showing, got the title World Winner. Her breeder couldnt believe it, what a succesful day for her kennel too!

After the females were judged, a different judge was judging the males. I entered Macho in open class. Again a very strong competition, some very nice dogs, well known in the showring in Europe. Macho was very tired and didnt like the waiting in the ring very much. Nevertheless he walked really well and the judge placed him 2nd in class! The winner of the class also got the World Winner and Best of Breed title. Not so bad!

After the show we were very very tired but also very happy. Some nice results for our kennel, being able to meet some nice people and also very important, seeing many many nice bolognese. This was a top entry for the breed. We are already looking forward to next year. See you in Denmark!?

Jackies bite has changed and we are so happy to announce that her bite is perfect. We have been waiting for a nice dog like this for a long time! We have had several females here but all had problems, being too small or having patella luxation. Since we breed only with healthy dogs that are correct according to the standard we are very selective. It took us 2 years to find a dog that maches the really nice true bolognese type. Jackie is excellent in confirmation. I now have showed her several times and all judges are very impressed the moment they touch her. She is our hope for the future and we are so happy with this little girl!

Sakala, pedigree name Little White Wonder Delizia Julia, was in Holland for 2 weeks. She and one of her owners Pam spent two weeks in our house. Sakalas other owner Gloria asked me to handle Sakala at the World Dog Show and we thought it would be wise for me to practice with Sakala for a few weeks and get to know her better. This way I was also able to meet Pam and eventhough I was very busy I got to know Pam better too and I am happy to have met her, such a warm person who loves dogs so much and dogs love her! Sakala was already so well trained that I didnt even had to spend so much time on getting her to walk and stand pretty, she also seems to be a natural talent and wanted to do everything for her bait. Sakala has been to the dogshow in Zwolle with me and also to Bratislava. It was good for me to see how she grew out and what a nice dog she had become. I always had a special place in my heart for her and after this experience even more. Thank you Pam for giving her such great socialisation and taking such good care of her! After the World Dog Show Sakala went home with Gloria.

At the International Dogshow in Zwolle Macho gained the last CAC necessary for the title Dutch Champion. In Holland the last CAC point must be gained after 27 months of age. Macho was 27 months and 3 days! Macho is our first homebred Dutch Champion and the second national Champion after his brother Turbo, who was a Norwegian Champion. Machos litter, our C litter, was our first litter that had show quality puppies. Some breeders say they have litters full with showchampions but I dare to say that can not be true. Even with the best parents there is no guarantee. Anyway, the dogshow in Zwolle was really special to me. There were 5 bolognese entered and Macho didnt only get the title of Dutch Champion, he also was Best of Breed. Many thanks to the judge who recognized his beauty. Jackie was also entered and this little girl did very well and got the judgment: “very promissing”. Furthermore Sakala was in Holland for 2 weeks and I took her to this show too, she got excellent 2nd.
